I feel like another factor to consider is the appliances you already have. For me, the house came with a stove already so I would rather just use the stove than have to go buy a microwave just to save a few dollars.

Also since I enjoy baking, an oven would make more sense than a microwave since you’re not getting the same results. Can you imagine making macarons in a microwave 😂    See Less

The results are pretty obvious, really. It's conservation of energy. The microwave sends all its energy into the food to heat just that. Ovens and pans and whatnot throw heat around a lo     See More energy loss. The microwave will always be faster and cheaper.

And the results aren't as good because of the particular method it's heating with. The waves won't cover the food as evenly and the faster cooking affects the organic fibers differently. Also, the microwave obviously won't char anything, which can be good or bad. It'll usually be less well cooked.    See Less
