An estimated 80-90% of urban Americans would have had freezer compartments in their refrigerators by the mid 1950s. The frozen TV dinner, fish sticks, and frozen vegetables all became popular in U.S. during that decade. Canada was pretty on par, and culturally similar in regards to kitchen and food trends.
