Greatest proof that Ireland is a nation of drunks is that they call this dirty potato water called Guinness with actual stout... Thinner and weaker than a damn Budweiser (the American swill, not the original Czech of course), tastes like mud and charcoal.
The more Guinness you serve the better it is. I'm convinced that's the major player. My Guinness is good I clean the lines thoroughly every week we go through at least a keg a week and it's always the correct gas temp and pressure. When it's busy on Guinness it gets creamier and better as the night goes on. And the least tasty Guinness is the first day after a line clean. Don't get me wrong it's still awesome but it's just not quite as creamy as a busy session on it. Must be something to do with the residual yeast build up on the line as it goes on
All it is lads is a genuine interest in the quality being high coupled with a busy pub serving a lot of Guinness so it’s not sitting around in kegs for weeks on end. Nothing will come close to the top pubs here in Dublin but if you’ve places that do both of the above they’ll be better than a heap of mediocre pubs serving poor to average pints here in Dublin.
Have been to the tasting bar in the Guinness factory a few times while working in Ireland. The Guinness there is spectacular & worth the trip. If you go on the factory tour you get a ticket for a free drink, amazingly many folk don't want to try it? (Maybe driving?) So folk kept handing me their tickets - Happy days.

I tried one in a can, boi it was so bitter 😅 Never again 😅
If the guinness is getting pulled through constantly it tastes good, if theres one pint every couple of hour getting poured it will taste like crap.

So yeah it's all about the lines and pressure, most pubs have the wrong lines for Guinness!!
It’s clean lines and humidified air.
The technique and equipment makes all the difference
